Golf do Estoril
Located 24 kms west to Lisbon and overlooking Estoril, about 2 kms to the north, this course has a superb panoramic view from the course towards the sea, where villas nestle in woodlands, while towards the hills of Sintra the view is unlimited. The Estoril Golf is one of the most traditional and classic clubs in Portugal and has been host to the Portuguese Open. The course nestles into the foothills of Sintra and was designed by Mckenzie Ross of Turnberry, and requires careful positioning of the ball as the green undulating fairways are bordered by pines, fragrant mimosa and thick vegetation. The velvet like greens are well protected by deep bunkers. There are two courses, one 18 hole 69 par, and 5238 metres long, which although being not easy is not too frustrating, and the second 2350 metres long, with 9 holes and par 34. These golf courses are really a delight to the eye and a great test for golfers. Driving range, putting green, lessons by Pros and availability of caddies all year round are some of the facilities offered to the player. Golf shop, Restaurant, bars and swimming-pool.
