Located in North West Ireland, Mount Falcon Estate, lies between Foxford & Ballina, County Mayo. It is comprised of the Mount Falcon Country House Hotel, Fisheries, Spa, Lodges, & Leisure centre, set on a 100 acre Estate.

HISTORY

In 1876 the “Castle” was created from the love of one young man for his new bride – Miss Nina Knox-Gore of Belleek Manor. It was agreed that she was so special that she deserved to live in a castle. In 1932 Mount Falcon was purchased by Major & Constance Aldridge as one of the finest shooting lodges in Ireland. Mount Falcon’s owners amongst whom are the Maloney Family who hail from the area, bought the Estate in 2002. They have clearly demonstrated their pride and love of this property through the wonderful restoration and extension of the main house to its former glory.

BEDROOMS

The Hotel comprises of 32 bedrooms which include 2 suites and 4 deluxe rooms that are located on the upper floor of the original house. They are truly unique and enjoy all the original features of this historic home, including 15 foot height ceiling, original marble fireplaces, servide bells, cornices, pitch pine floor boards & shutters. An additional 26 superior rooms, are spacious, and with super king beds, custom designed free standing furniture and generous en-suites which include large showers and baths.

LODGES

For guests looking for more flexibility during their visit to the West, the Hotel offers luxury 3 and 4 bedroom self catering suites, nestled around three idyllic locations on the Estate. All bedrooms are doubles with Super King Beds. 16 Courtyard Lodges, 17 Lakeside Lodges & 12 Woodland Lodges.

DINING

The food experience at Mount Falcon is truly unique. The “Kitchen Restaurant” spans the original kitchen and pantry in the main house where guests enjoy first class, fresh, locally produced, quality food in a friendly and intimate environment. Awarded 2 AA rosette. The welcoming “Boathole Bar” is located in one of the original “entertaining rooms” in the house. It offers a perfect haven to enjoy a quiet drink by the log fire and mull over the evening restaurant menu.

LEISURE

Mount Falcon Estate hosts a 17 metre indoor heated Swimming Pool, Sauna, Steam Room, Jacuzzi, fully equipped air conditioned Gym & a 3 km Walking/ Jogging/Cycling trail around the estate. A selection of Mountain Bikes are available for that early morning cycle. Why not take the opportunity to test your skills at clay pigeon shooting with our onsite shooting range.

FISHING

Mount Falcon Estate has two miles exclusive double bank fisheries on the famous Moy. It is a mixed salmon fishery and hence offers both spring and summer fishing. The fisheries consist of both deep and shallow pools and is therefore ideal for all angling methods: fly, bait and spinning. A full range of angling equipment is available for hire.

GOLF

Local Courses have been voted in the Top 100 courses in Ireland by Golf Digest. Rosses Point (11th), Enniscrone (17th), Carne – Belmullet (25th) and Westport (43rd).

A range of other Parkland courses in the locality including Ballina, Castlebar, Claremorris, Ballinrobe, Mulranny, Swinford, Castle Dargan & Strand Hill. All of the above courses are within a 40 mile radius of the Estate, making Mount Falcon an ideal base for Golf

Getting to Mount Falcon is easy;

Situated on the N26 Foxford/Ballina Road (6 miles north of Foxford and 3 miles south of Ballina).

From Dublin: 3 hour drive.

From Sligo: 1 hour drive.

From Galway: 1.5 hours drive.

By air:

Daily scheduled flights from the UK into Ireland West Airport Knock – a 30 minute drive away. Daily scheduled flights from the UK into Galway Airport – a 1.5 hour drive away. Daily scheduled flights from the UK into Sligo airport – a 1 hour drive away.

Scheduled flights from the US into Shannon Airport (approx 2.5 hour drive).

By train:

Regular train services into Ballina Station. Take Dublin to Westport train. Change at Manulla Junction.

By helicopter:

Helicopter landing facilities are available on the Estate.
